Lakeland Llama Treks supports local charities and schools. As part of this work we use the llamas to provide interactive sessions in both llama handing and care and short walks to promote healthy exercise.
We are really keen to work with local walking initiatives and community groups to support low impact walking experiences promoting the health benefits of walking regularly.
We have a wealth of experience working with healthy heart teams. We are particularly keen to work with disabled and disadvantaged individuals and groups and have researched and risk assessed suitable routes that are ideal for people with limited mobility or in wheelchairs.
The llamas are comfortable around wheelchairs and adapt their pace accordingly, enabling people in wheelchairs to get involved in leading for periods along the route. We have vast experience in accessing funding to support the involvement of community groups in these innovative and effective walking for health activities and are able to help and advise with funding applications if required.
We are able to make visits to local schools with the llamas and are happy to be involved in supporting the key stages in geography and art in the study of Peru and the use of llamas in the Peruvian culture. Short treks in suitable school grounds are also an option. Please ring to discuss your requirements. We will be happy to explore new ideas and possibilities.
Photo Shoots – TV. And Media
Our llamas are very placid and cooperative and have taken part in numerous TV and advertising activities. We are able to bring our llamas along to local events for publicity or events promoting good health, walking or tourism. We have national costume for the llamas where required which makes an excellent colourful display. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
